In what is called a "Platinum Package," Barry Manilow offers fans a pre-concert meet-and-greet, champagne and photo session with front row seats, for a price: $1,500 each (the money goes to Manilow's foundation). Formerly, each participant was allowed to do this just once (Manilow's people did keep track). However, in recent years, his management has allowed repeaters: now it's once per person per year.
As long as it is going to charity I don't see a problem with it. He is a big draw. Had some good songs as well. After all, he sings the songs that make the whole world sing (I know he didn't write it. And David Cassidy did a version of it).
At that price, he'll make alot of "young girls" cry all over again (especially the ones who can't afford it). I'd like to think that he would waive the fee for "Mandy" though! lol
I've drank enough beer to float a battleship! Go ahead and Rock & Roll all night if you can but don't party every day!
