Steve Vai , I like Bush's Best kidney beans please , not bad for a guy that said Europe fricken pounds. I appologize for that ,please delete that post from your memory. I knew I was having an off day. I do have better taste in music ......then again, maybe not

I had thought I had seen something years ago that said that Steve Vai had played all guitar parts for that movie. Very interesting. I learned something new today

I feel bad now for the premature claim to the beans. Man I really wanted them

For a while there were rumors that it was Vai, then there were rumors that it was SRV. But, Ry Cooder is the one who really played the parts ...

Both Vai and Cooder played on the duel.
From Wikipedia "Ry Cooder plays Macchio's guitar part throughout the movie.
Most of the battle is played by Vai, except for Eugene's blues parts at the beginning of the duel which are played by Ry Cooder and can be heard on Vai's album The Elusive Light and Sound, volume 1"
