Music Trivia 42 - Get this one ..

Post by f.sciarrillo »

O.k . .We all love 70's music right? I still think the best music to come out was from the 70's and 80's. Well, during the 70's there was of course a top selling artist. Can you tell me who the top selling artist of the 70's was? As a bonus, can you tell me the top selling album, from the 70's, from this artist?

The winner will get five cans of beans with pork, as this is a little bit of a hard one, I think?

I once read that Grand Funk was the largest grossing group from 1970 to 75. That includes records and concerts. Their lousy management team took almost all of it.

Wasn't Dark Side of the Moon the all time selling album, and since it came out in 1973, that must be the top seller of the 70's.

It was Elton John, and "Good-bye Yellow Brick Road" was his selling album of the 70's era. Good job TJ ... There are more to come.

Pink's Dark Side of the Moon was the longest to stay on the charts - it is still on the charts, but it wasn't the best selling album of the 70's. Elton John had a total of around 150 million albums sold that decade.

Also, what is up Jerry? Long time no see - I believe I was around 6 of 7 the last time I saw you. How ya been?

Hi, I am still around and actually playing right now a little more than I want. We put a beatle show and an elvis show together and they are doing great along with the regular White shadow oldies and classic rock dance show. hey glad to see former white shadow member tim kelly get the question right. Tim and I had a lot of fun on road playing such places as new york west virginia georgia florida and michigan. His memory is better than mine becuase he drank coffee a lot and did some other memory altering things
