The thing that has me so excited is that they basically overturned Row vs. Wade - Yup, government funded abortions. I am so stoked over that that I am going to go to all the sluts in town and tell them to keep spreading their legs, as I will be more than happy to pay for them to have the kid taken out of their misery. What a bunch of BS.

72% of the country did not want this and the hippy libs spat in their faces. Wait till November, and wait till 2012. This has ruined the chances for any libs or dems for a long time to come. I wouldn't worry too much about this new law being around in a year or so. The progressive socialists included a mandate that, as written, should be found unconstitutional. The federal government cannot mandate that a US citizen must buy any private good or service with no conditions other than citizenship. Since that is a key point in the law with no alternative remedy, when it is struck down, the law will be struck down.

38 states are lining up to contest it. What a nice number 38. It just happens to be a 3/4 majority of the states...just the number needed to pass a constitutional amendment. I've heard whispers from a few politicians of a movement to replace or remove the general welfare clause and end this madness once and for all.

Actually, they ignored adding the Hyde Amendment, which is a legal rider that explicitly prohibits a piece of legislation from allowing publicly funded abortions. Until now, it was accepted practice to include it as an amendment to any bill that could possibly affect abortions. Until now.

Roe v. Wade is a ruling that prohibits state & local governments from outlawing clinical abortions.

That is true, but if you look at it as it is right now. Passing this makes public funded abortions legal and basically over turns roe vs. wade .. Either way there are 37 states who are not going to participate in this. And there are several attorney Generals suing the federal government over it. So these next couple of months should be really interesting ..

I will have to look at it some more then. I might be getting it confused. My main belief is that abortion should only be allowed if there is rape, incest, or the mothers life is in danger. They will of course need to have proof of said actions ..
