I emailed an online lighting company some questions regarding a simple tripod speaker stand...I wanted to know simple stuff like how long it was when folded up, what was the diameter of the post...no brain surgery.
The response:
Hello,
We do not have those specs available, you may want to try contacting the manufacturer directly to find out.
Your Technical Specialist,
Tony
Isn't that nice. My Technical Specialist. My useless, POS Technical Specialist who's job is to provide technical information about the products his company sells. My lazy-assed Technical Specialist who has an account with and a hotline number for the manufacturer.
Here was my one line response:
I thought contacting the manufacturer to find out basic product specs was the Technical Specialist's job.
If I was "Your Technical Specialist" in this situation, I would contact the manufacturer myself to find the information, record it for future reference and answer the questions. I would also recommend to the manufacturer to post these specs, since everybody else does. At least, that's what I thought a Technical Specialist is supposed to do for a living. Maybe I'm wrong...how should I know...I'm just the customer.
Just venting
