Jobs - Gigs - Shows

Post by Hawk »

I was talking to someone last week who pointed this out.

Back in the day, we used to play a job. Then we started playing gigs. Today we play shows.

I was wondering, do shows pay more than jobs ?

Damn, I have WAY too much time on my hands this morning.

Well the bands i play in, we would play with two other bands a night, each band would have a 45-60 minute set. I would walk out of the show with with more then i would make in one hour at my job. So for me yes but i wouldn't quit my job over it.
The script was written, and the villian was cast. The provocation needed, they will provide. They did it before, they'll do it again.

To me, it's a gig or a show. If you call it a "job", you're not enjoying what you're doing.

I'm still playing gigs, but put on a show once I get there.
