Alice in wonderland ...

Post by f.sciarrillo »

I saw this movie today and I have to say that it is better than I thought it would be. It just makes me like Tim Burton and Johnny Depp even more. Anyone else see it?

Yeah I will definitely get the combo pack, great deal. Its cool that you already got it but it does not release til June 1st. Probably from overseas or something, is yours in english?

Alice in Wonderland (2010)

We also got the Sci Fi made for TV version that is very cool. It came out a while back..

Alice (SyFy 2009)

Either way lots of fun!

Sorry, but I won't be watching it. I absolutely want to punch Tim Burton in the face. I cannot stand and his movies. I enjoy Depp's work, and although I realize that Burton gave Depp 99 percent of his fame, just cannot stomach anything that they do together.

While I don't particularly hate Burton like Kevin does, the man is a one-trick pony. He's been recycling the same quasi-goth schtick for the past ten years. There's a difference between having a recognizable and identifiable style and being a cliche of oneself. Quentin Taraninto and Kevin Smith have their own styles; Burton is a cliche of himself.

Just IMHO, of course. I'm not a professional film critic, obviously. LOL

P.S. Though to be fair, the first two Batman movies kicked ass under Burton's direction before the Batman franchise became Grade A cheese with Batman Forever and Batman and Robin. Thank God they restarted the series from square one.
"He's the electric horseman, you better back off!" - old sKool making a reference to the culturally relevant 1979 film.

not enough

I guess I don't put enough thought or energy into hating someone I don't know. It just seems strange that you can really "hate" someone because of movies that they make (you Watch?). I guess it could just be wording, but either way-

I like some of his movies (batman, edward, Beetlejuice, Pee Wee, etc) and some of it I don't really care to much about (sweeney todd, mars attacks, etc). But he does kind of have a distinct style. Not a lot of people doing what he is doing and Ed Wood is a great cult weird thing so....I disagree that he is a paraody of himself as long as he keeps doing things like Cabin Boy or Big Fish. He does seem to focus on the truely bizarre scripts, but I could not see Tarantin0 doing Alice? I mean it might be cool as a dusk til dawn meets true romance but Harvey Kietel would probably have to have a bit part...

I guess I can take it or leave it, but I do stand by Alice as being very entertaining! The 3D was a added after words not like Avatar which was shot for 3D in 3D, but it was still OK..

For $1.00 at sheetz I would check it out for yourself...

Peace
