Anyone good with...

...vehicle repairs, especially lifted suv's?

Ever since I put a budget lift on my jeep, I've been having a problem with vibrations, or worse(see: Death Wobble), at speeds over 50mph.

I've had it in the shop a couple of times for repairs to no avail. Got new tie rod links, track bar, bushings, even an alignment and balance. Nothing seems to help.

Anyone got any ideas?

Take your budget lift off?

How much did you lift it? Suspension lift, or body lift? Off the top of my head you may have screwed up the alignment of the driveshaft. Jeep driveshafts are short and sketchy under the best of circumstances.

Also, jeeps are not exactly comfort rides to begin with, it wouldn't take much to push it from the realm of "shitty" to "really shitty"

I only went up 2" with coil spacers up front. I know a lot of guys don't run into this problem until they go 4.5" or more.

The bad news is: I can't undo the lift in the back, new leaf pack. The old ones were beyond shot.

Check the universal joints on both driveshafts. Bad u-joints will cause vibrations.Putting suspension lifts on changes the driveshaft(s) angle.

I agree with the other replies. Start at the drive shaft. The splines might not be into the tranny tail shaft far enough. Could cause more costly problems.

the death wobble could be a bad stabilizer shock or bad ball joints. What size tires are you running on your jeep?
