Hit a deer on the way home from work...
Actually I should say, it hit me. Stupid fuck ran right into the side of my car. Damage was a busted driver's side mirror and some scrape marks down the side. This video pretty much sums up my feelings about deer...

You don't shoot a man in the dick!
I can relate.
The only two times I've had vehicular encounters with deer, they both hit me, not vice-versa. The first happened along Route 22 near Geeseytown, resulting only in a minor scuff mark on my passenger's side. The second happened along Route 550 near Warrior's Mark, that one took off my driver's side mirror and scratched my door.
Given the amount of night driving I do, I'm thankful I've only had two impacts with deer so far.

If your insurance will cover it, i would suggest for you to take it out to Cumming Motors here in Altoona. When i hit a deer a few months ago they did a real great job getting my car fixed up.
The script was written, and the villian was cast. The provocation needed, they will provide. They did it before, they'll do it again.
The only real damage is the broken mirror (just the "glass") and we can get that on the internet for 14 bucks. GET THIS! Dix Honda wanted $144.00 for just the "glass." Ummmmm, FUCK YOU! I think the scuff marks/scratches down the side will buff out, so we're not gonna bother with the insurance.

I hit a 6-point with my wife's then-brand-new Honda... he won. He dashed out when I was so close, I never actually touched the brakes, and I tagged his ass-end. I thought sure he was paralyzed, but by the time I called the Game Commission and went back, a bystander said he just got up and left. I hope somebody sauteed him with peppers and onions, he did $3000 in damage.--->JMS
Insurance companies will till you...hit the deer every time. Don't swerve or you may hit something else, and that's the difference between collision and comprehensible.
I have a record of 4 in my personal vehicle, and 3 in coal trucks (which, by the way, are more fun. If hit right they fly far)

A few years back while I was working for another newspaper, I had the great chance to travel Route 36 into Patton I believe....memory lapse here on what town.
I was covering a football game and after the game traveled the same way home.
Now there are a lot of open fields in this area and as I was cresting a hill heading back to Altoona, I saw several deer in the field ahead of me, there was a car about a mile or so a head of me, I could still see its lights. By the time I crested two more hills, the car was sitting in the middle of the road with its flashers going. Being a good samaritan, I stopped. To my amazement, the elderly couple inside were sitting in the the car with a deer through the windshield. I call 911 and waited for the ambulance. They were quite shaken up over this but not injured. I have seen ppl hit deer before and have nailed a couple here and there, but nothing like this!!

Having talent is one thing....what you do with it is something else
I knew a guy that had a turkey crash thru the passenger window of his truck and had it madly flailing about in his cab. He said he couldn't get out fast enough!! Got a few minor scrapes out if it.

I hit a deer one time with my son in the car, the deer came up from the embankment on the side of the road and ran straight into the front fender of my car, smacked its head on the windshield and flew up over my car. There were brains and all kinds of goo down the side of my car and the mirror was ripped off, as well as the driver side wheel well was caved in. My mom showed up to pick me up and I said "Well, looks like I killed that one" my son goes "It wasn't dead daddy, it was still running, it ran right past my window" I said, "No Tony, it wasn't running, it was flying". he wanted to do it again...lol
