wally chidboy local musician passes away

Post by beatlemaniac »

A young musician from patton just passed away. Wally chidboy from an apparent over dose. He was such a nice young guy maybe early thirties. Knew him from the time he was born and just last month and then the night before he passed he played drums for me and my boys for our Elvis show first in dubois and the the other night in State college . We had 2 gigs sat and he came to the second with us and was dancing and played again at turners for a set . Please pass the word to all the young guys out there. No one likes to party and have fun as much as we artists but that one drug will ruin everything for you and those that love you. We in patton have lost so many good people and now Wally.

Yeah, I loved the guy. I stopped to pick up my son at somebody's house about 15 years ago and as I was waiting, I heard a band jamming in a garage. Like being in a bar and being in the bathroom where you can hear the bass and drums more prevalently, I could hear every drum note. They were doing songs from Tom Petty's "Full Moon Fever" album and every drum note from the snare, bass drum, hi-hat, whatever was identical with every drum note from the album and it was "running like a clock". I thought, "Who the hell is that". Somebody said, "That's a 16 year old kid named Wally Chidboy."

I had the pleasure to play and record with Wally a coulple of times. He filled in with "The RamRods" on occasion.

Love ya Wally. I'll miss ya forever.

That's another shocker. I just saw Wally 2 weeks ago, sitting in on drums during Pellegrine's Wednesday Jam Night.

I didn't know him very well, but he always was pleasant when I spoke with him.

It again drives home the lesson: Never take anybody or anything in this world for granted, because you never know what's around the next corner in life.
