RIP Robert Byrd

Post by Merge »

I didn't agree with his political views, but he served his state and country well.
Pour me another one, cause I'll never find the silver lining in this cloud.

All the Klansmen I know, and I know a fair number, are Reaganites. They used to be Republican, but have now likely splintered into other extremist groups with the fall of modern conservatism... Libertarian, Anarchist, Promisekeepers, etc. I'm sure many are militiamen, as they tend to value the 2nd Amendment even over the 1st Amendment. (Though I'm not sure why the right to be in the Army is so important :) )
Southern Dems were once the racist party, but that was 40+ years ago.
I figured Joe would be chiming in on this, the talkshows were just overflowing with the chance to sling some mud and get away from defending BP.
Byrd was the Democratic Strom Thurmond, who also was a segregationist Dixiecrat until he pulled an "Arlen Specter" and switched to GOP in '64. Thurmond was 100 years old, and was also a poster-child for term limits.--->JMS

Its all good, Johnny. Slick Willie Clinton gave his blessing on Bobby being a KKK leader, and remember Willie was the first "black" president.

You democrats ought to be mighty proud that one of your party's leaders for decades was a KKK hangman. That is a proven fact, as opposed to the rest of the drivel in your post with not an iota of proof (as usual).

Which part of my post would you like me to dumb down for you? It's all common knowledge outside of Fox News, but I'd be happy to provide references, if necessary. I couldn't name names of Klansmen, obviously, because many of them aren't currently incarcerated, and I tend to enjoy a lawn free of combustible religious symbology.
At least you're not still embarrassing yourself with that God O Spin nonsense. --->JMS

Please show some evidence of the KKK members you say are now Libertarians and Promise Keepers. You made the statement, please back it up.

Again, Joe, I cannot name names because these extremists, like all extremists, are unstable, but you will take note of the word,"likely." I'll explain this for you: "Likely" means "probably," in this case. I was positing that, having known the whacko nature of these people (with whom I co-existed for my entire youth), I could reasonably accurately predict where their insanity would go in the current outlets for political mental-illness. Libertarianism because many extremists recognize the Republican failures of the last decade, and no longer wish to be tied to a losing team. Anarchism because of their insane idea that if there was no gov't, retards would suddenly take power, and they would be leaders. And Promisekeepers, because religiosity (which is a recognized symptom of actual mental illness) is what gives radical wingnuts their sense of authority. How can you argue with God Hisself? (note: why would God choose illiterate narcissistic douchebags who piss on the poor and sick?) I can, in fact, guarantee that some of these Baby-Huey's are/were members of Full Gospel Businessmen Fellowships, which is a predecessor to Promisekeepers. Just so you know, Joe, Promisekeepers, like all moral-authoritarian groups, HAS NO AUTHORITY OVER ME or anyone else. If I were ever to surrender to a God, He would be a loving God, who'd not need a bunch of thick-browed, self-important nano-peckers to tell me how to live.
In short, I have never met a Klansmen who held any liberal or even moderate view. They are all politically, to a man, just... like... you.--->JMS

Too much BS in that to attempt reading past the part where you call Libertarians a form of political mental illness. Libertarians, very much like Constitutionalists want a return to following the rules of the Constitution.

Calling someone who wants the government to follow the Constitution a from of mental illness is interesting. Just what do YOU call mainstream?

Wait, I will bet that most likely for you its the Communist Manifesto, but you will predictably go on about 5 long paragraphs blasting conservatives, Christians and anyone with more money than yourself.

I just find it ironic that Barak went to his funeral.

Okay, then. Explain how your version of the Constitution is somehow more "real" than someone else's. Tell me why you get to make all the definitions.--->JMS
