Legalize it all together!!! Tax it and help get us out of this ever increasing debt and recession/depression. It's pot, not acid, heroin, or even alcohol and tobacco which are both 100% legal and WAY more harmful and destructive. And I'll debate this topic with anyone that cares to.

I just heard on the radio the other day that it's being assumed that pot legalization in CA would drop the price from an avg. of $380 per ounce to under $38 per ounce. While I applaud the discount, it would certainly cut the tax revenues far below what they had hoped for.
Which also tells me that 90% of pot's value is simply risk plus minimal overhead. That's less capitalism, and more entrepreneurship (there's a huge difference, conservatives!).
Now, if it happens, will you spend one-tenth as much on Derschmokundschmile, or buy ten times more? 8) --->JMS

OK so that's cut tax revenues far below what they hoped for? Or cut them all together, meaning no revenue from it at all? Just wondered because the way I see it a little revenue is certainly better than NO revenue. Also wouldn't legalizing it also create MANY many jobs that weren't there before? Someone has to grow it. Someone has to distribute it. and someone has to sell it.

Decriminalize it, I say. Make it like yarrow tea, rose hips or sassafras, grow your own, use at will. Keep government regulations completely out of it.

... And Joe and John found something they totally agree on. That, and The Allman Bros.--->JMS
