Do you know what the biggest selling album of the last year is?

Susan Boyle - I Dreamed A Dream (released November 2009) has sold over 9 Million albums worldwide to date.

Another fact that goes to show how much modern music sucks lol.. She does have a good voice, that is for sure ..

I don't pay much attention to what she sings, but I love that she's the underdog, and apparently, so does the rest of the world.
However, in the time since she's hit, I've realized that it was all orchestrated. If they truly thought she had no chance, they wouldn't have ever put her on TV in the first place. Same deal with William Hung... they actually made money and ratings BECAUSE he sucks.--->JMS

There are several major factors to Susan Boyle's meteoric rise to stardom so fast. Of course, being on a British TV talent show that promoted the heck out of the fact that somebody who was considered a "plain Jane" dowdy looking woman had an extraordinary singing voice. Poeple around the world started rooting for her. She, then, was on a worldwide tour of TV talent and talk shows to perform before the album came out last year. Next was the fact that the record was designed around her singing easy listening standards that appeal to many people but mainly an older audience. Older people also tend to still purchase actual entire CDs and add that to digital downloads and you have a vast amount of record sales. However, the main reason is that the Lady Can Sing! Good for her.
