Kiss live on the Mike Douglas Show 1974. The interview with Gene before the band plays is funny.

I saw them a year after that show, in Wilkes-Barre, Pa. I did not want to go, I thought they were too much show and no talent, but my gf talked me into going. The band rocked the place out, they were just high energy rock and roll.

I actually watched that show! I thought it was awesome, obviously, at the time... Kiss was marketed to tween-age boys, and I was 12, so it was aimed right at me.
Mike Douglas actually had a lot of cool rock stuff on his show. I can remember an in-depth interview with Iggy Pop that really deepened my view of what rock music can do. There was a Peter Frampton appearance, when "Frampton Comes Alive!" was at it's peak, where he talked mostly about his guitars, that really struck me, too.--->JMS
