Judas Priest to quit touring

They've put in their time but it's sad to know these guys only have one more tour. Apparently they'll continue making studio albums though

I'll be there, somewhere. I saw Priest for the first time in 1982, on the Screaming For Vengeance Tour, with freaking Iron Maiden opening, supporting Number Of The Beast. That show was a MAJOR turning point... I went from being a kid who daydreamed about being in a metal band to being a kid who HAD to be in a metal band. Maiden was just jaw-droppingly good, and I chatted up a young lady on the break, until... those opening notes of "The Hellion" broke into "Electric Eye." The next hour-plus was like riding a superbike 165 mph without a helmet... my hair felt like it was blowing back from the assault. Halford's voice was actually sos-so that show, but it didn't matter. They personified metal, and I knew I had to play in a band.
I've seen them several times over the years, but the last time, in Hershey with RonnyD and Adam D, they hit even harder! I'll be sad to see them go...--->JMS

My dad might have seen them on the same tour. Early 80s, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, and Whitesnake in Johnstown if memory serves.

That would have been an amazing show man.

That sounds incredible... I love Priest but I've only been around for a little over 16 years haha... The sad thing is that this is what's happening to most of my heroes. I did however, see AC/DC on their opening show of the Black Ice tour, two years ago in Wilkes-Barre. And my bday gift from my folks this year was a ticket to go see Megadeth at the Palace Theater in Greensburg, on their Rust In Peace 20th Anniversary Tour which was the most incredible thing I've ever seen. And Testament and Exodus each played a set before the 'Deth came out so you can bet my neck was killikn me at the end haha... So awesome tho!

We were at the Rust In Peace show as well Evan,def. was a killer concert. Exodus still rip it up like no one else-they are the GodFathers of thrash!

That is correct. I got to talk to Dave Murray and Steve Harris that night.
