Only Philly could pull this off with getting Cliff Lee to come home..! Halliday, Lee, Oswalt & Hamels...The baseball gods are smiling !! The hell with football.. Is it time for spring training?

Great deal for Lee and Phillies. He used the Yankees (he hates the Yankees) as leverage against the Rangers, then signed with the team he wanted to go to in the first place!
Now for the Pirates so far, so good. Might be trading Doumit for a pitcher so that would make another good, not great upgrade.
The biggest deal could be coming later this winter as the Cardinals try to lock up Albert Pujols for the rest of his career. He's 30, so an 8-10 yr $250M deal is not out of the question. Oh, and the Pirates just signed Lyle Overbay, hoping for a .275 25 90! At least he plays good D.
