Post by Banned »

STEELERS are in it again! i think the Packers don't stand a chance. we don't have Pouncy unfortunately but Harrison is healthy as is our fantastik strong safety. Arron better watch out...he will wilt under the pressure he playing way above his head latter half of their season.

The Steeler D will CRUSH THEM!!

ps where is best place to go for the big screen + beer + pizza experience for those that can't afford one in their living room (yet) i'm poor

Go neither! I don't like sports.

P.S. To make this somewhat on-topic, any bar around you will have a big screen.

Really it doesnt even matter who wins. no one here is a steeler...no one benefits from them winning. its just a game. i was simply saying thats im hoping the underdog wins. the steelers will prob win, but it wont be easy.
if they win, everyone will brag forever....if they lose, everyone will blame refs and make excuses forever. no one really wins!

Looking at the steelers

Post by tornandfrayed »

I am not really a Steeler fan. But I have had some break throughs in accordance with my life involving the Steelers.

Most of my friends are Steelers fans.

Most of them really seem to care that the steelers win.

I guess that I am in favor of what makes most of my friends happy.

Go Steelers!

Steelers still hold the most Super Bowl wins in NFL history. It will be years before anyone team matches that.

It was a good game, both teams deserved to win. Congrats to Green Bay.

Considering they didn't start having Super Bowls until 1967,The Green Bay Packers have won thirteen league championships (more than any other team in the NFL) including nine NFL Championships prior to the Super Bowl era and four Super Bowl victories. So,just because the Steeler's have more SB wins, looks to me that Green Bay actually has more championship wins overall :) :)

It's all good, you can't win them all! Anyway, when you play like the Steelers did tonight, you aren't going to win very many football games. What surprised me is after 3 turnovers and a missed field goal, they were still in the game at the end....congrats to Green Bay, they got it done.

The first two super bowls weren't called the Super Bowl, so in reality, they only have two Super Bowl wins. :)

Theres nothing the 'steeler nation' can say. they cant blame refs for "bad calls" or say they had hurt players. they were simply outplayed in every way. they have nothing to brag about.
btw, I thought it was funny how early in the game when the packers were sticking it to them, a few steeler guys started limping as to have something to blame the loss on later. "oh well, i got hurt early in the game". I literally was laughing my ass off when benny
was limping round, then took off for a long run the next play. what an actor!! he healed so quick!!
I couldnt believe it, but egos are a crazy thing.

all the "7 ring" hype for what? I mean, I even thought the steelers would win, because they pretty much have a championship team. Alot of those guys have won the 2 recent SB's.
I guess this is what happens when all you do is brag and say how youre gonna win. Things get changed on ya.
maybe next year steeler nation.

GB didn't win, the Steelers lost. there's a big dif. 21 of GB's points were the direct result of turnovers. Arroon has been playing way over his head for last few games, he looked it against the big Steeler D too.

As #43 said we were just one step short of making the big plays and winning it all. "I was just one step short", he says. Anyone that watched the game agrees with this.

GB does not deserve this win. they are not the best team, but the best team does not always win un4tunaley,

Uh..Seriously?? Interceptions take skill. Didnt you see all the dropped interceptions lastnight? The packers just happens to catch some, thats all. They played to win. They knew they were pretty much up against a championship team.
When the steelers intercept balls, its the best thing ever and they are badass. When another team does, its "bullshit" right? Its fake winning when someone else does it. I love the sportsfan mentality.

Dont bring up the steeler "D" or the steel curtain, cause it was non existent lastnight! Did you see how much the packers RAN it and THREW it? Successfully!!!! The packers even had THREE players hurt.
If the steelers had 3 players hurt, that would be the excuse for the next 10 days.

They dont deserve it?? are you high? they beat a pretty much championship team.

I agree with you that they "were one step.." and all that.
Not really though, thats like saying "Man , we woulda won if we didnt lose!".

Coulda woulda shoulda...but DIDNT. No matter WHAT the reasons or excuses are.

If the "best team" cant beat the "non best team"...whats that tell you about the "best team" ??

Facebook has been full of excuses and "it woulda been different if it was different" comments. I guess being a division champ isnt good enough. No one is ever satisfied.

I think it was great to see a bunch of guys who DONT allready have SB rings to get one!!!!

Well,GB capitalized on Pittsburgh's turnovers, yea, they scored 21 points because Pittsburgh made mistakes. That's what good football teams do,utilize the other teams bad plays. Green Bay deserves the win because they played a better game. If I remember correctly, and I do,Pittsburgh did not take the lead at any point of the game. Say what you want, don't matter to me,Green Bay are Super Bowl 45 champions, period. I would bet alot of why the Steelers lost was because maybe, just maybe they were a little to confident, you know, figured GB was inexperienced in the big games and would choke. Sure,GB had some mistakes and looked a little confused at times, but they still managed to out play the Steelers, even after they lost their best cornerback. I think Pittsburgh has a damn good team, but last night wasn't their night. :) :)

If the Steelers' fans have such a hard time believing a GREAT team actually beat them, maybe they should've just let the Ravens win their playoff game. The Steelers won that game with worse chances than what the Packers won the Super Bowl. THAT was a game where a team beat themselves, not the other team. A star running back not holding the ball right is stupid, and I'm sure he knew it. A quarterback just lobbing the ball into double coverage is stupid, but happens a little more often. Had those 2 plays not happened, where do you think the Steelers would have been last night?

Football, in modern day, is unlike most sports... It's not about how powerful an offense is. It's not about how fast they are. It's not about how accurate that QB is. It's about which team is going to make the biggest mistakes, and which team will capitalize on those mistakes. Teams with a QB who has no accuracy and who's runners have a hard time running the ball have beaten teams who can toss it anywhere down field, and run through everyone. Why? Because the latter team, for all their dynamic prowess, must've SCREWED UP somewhere! If they're such a dominant team, then what the hell happened, and why weren't they the ones that won?

As an example, let's look at the Bills. This season, if you look at their record, they looked like the team to stomp on. And yet they gave teams Hell! They forced several OT games, and they kept fighting tooth and nail with many! They were a GOOD team, in the respect that they'd fight! But the end results weren't proof of how good they actually seemed to be. They came so close to being considered a "good team" that it probably hurt! Their record didn't say it, but then if you'd watch these games, they would still take it to these other teams, the ones that were supposedly so much better. The Steelers and Ravens both clearly underestimated them, having head to overtime. And depending on how you view plays, they could've taken it before the OT. They just didn't. Why? They couldn't make big things out of big mistakes. Had they turned those mistakes a little better though, we'd be looking at another competitor
