Rockpage Profiles.

Post by RamRod 1 »

Did you ever notice that maybe 40% or more of Rockpage members profiles show very little if any personal information? Lots of them have nothing. I espically notice it when I'm looking at ads for musicians. Someone might say, " Starting new band and need bass player and drummer". You look at the profile to find more info and there's nothing. Is it Country, Rap, Southern rock, "50's", "60's", "70's", 80's", "90's", whatever? Then you wonder where the guy's from. Might be Pittsburgh. Might be Lancaster. Might be Maryland, etc.

It seems like some people tend to be a bit "coy" about their info.

With due respect for a few criminals among us that might be "laying low for a while", sometimes I wish that more Rockpagers would open up a bit more and let us know more about them.

Any comments?

I tend to put as little personal information as possible about myself online.

I do agree with you that the people looking for musicians should put more information on the ads.

Yeah. That's how it goes. A lot of people only put enough info to get on and say they're here. But who are "they?" Well, in many cases, either they didn't realize they could be courteous enough to identify themselves, or maybe they have a lot else going on. Or, in rare cases as mentioned, maybe they just don't want anyone to know who or what they are. Perhaps we should identify ourselves more?

With this being an open forum, and since there is a google spider linked to it, I don't put very much information about myself in my profile. Now if it was a closed forum, and there was no google spider, I would put more.

If anyone wants to know anything about me, which most of you should already know who I am; just pm me :)

If you want to get more information about people, I'd suggest talking to the owners of this site and setting up a page on facebook. Then people could choose how much information they share with that page and other friends they meet through there.

Lynch1.....Scott Sensebaugh, 41, from Hollidaysburg. Married with 4 children. I sell cars at Blue Knob Auto. Been playing since age 16 (I still suck after all these years, haha). I grew up on the 80's hair bands and still love the music from that era. George Lynch is my favorite guitar player of all time, hence the screen name Lynch1. I have played in bands in high school, college, and a local band about 5-6 years ago. I would love to get into another band, but my work schedule makes it very limiting. I really miss playing out, there is nothing like it. I have 4 guitars, a Jackson dinky, an ESP glmt200 (george's tiger stripe), an ESP Ltd, and a Washburn d11 acoustic. I have a Peavey Bandit 112 amp and use a Zoom G2G effects processor. Not sure what else you may wanna know, but just ask.
