Lakland LOG 5 string P bass...

Post by MOONDOGGY »

I purchased this because I lusted after a 5 string P for so long. BUT then!!!>..........GAS!!! I haven't played this more than about an hour because I'm too afraid to ruin it! Seriously. It's in like-new condition and still has the plastic on the pickguard. Since it's 1 of only 30 made, I'm terrified to put a mark on it. (Someday I'll learn!) It's been carefully stored in a Gator HSC that is also like new.

As mentioned, there were only 30 of these made. They made them based off the opinions of the Lakland Owners' Group members. It is based on the Bob Glaub signature P basses from Lakland with a transparent butterscotch finish (only offered on US Laklands) over an Ash body. It has a maple neck and had two fingerboard options: Maple w/ black block inlays or Rosewood w/ pearl inlays. Mine is the maple version. They also had two p/up options. The standard is a beautifully fat sounding Norstrand NP-5. Or it could be ordered with a Chi-sonic p/up at an extra charge.

Here's more specs:

- Ash body
- 35" scale Maple neck/board w/ block inlays
- Nordstrand NP-5 p/up
- Wide (19mm) spacing
- Hipshot hardware
- Gator HSC
- Certificate of authenticity signed by the CEO of Lakland

- For non-LOG members, this bass was $1150 + S&H. This also has the $100 Gator HSC.

I'm looking to get $1000 for it. I know that's very close to the new price for this thing, but you can't exactly just go buy one like this. And that's still cheaper than a Fender P5.

Dan,

Your killing me here. I have had the urge for a P Bass lately but I am not a huge Fender Fan and this sure would fit the bill.

Just what I need another bass, I take enough heat at practice when I bring a different bass.

Tim, I'm not sure if you got it or not, but I sent you a PM about the ReBop on June 21st. I'd be interested in working a trade. I love Spectors!
