What's your poison?

Post by jetcitywoman »

Mine is Jack & Coke. Black Label only. Stiff, splash of coke, on rocks.

Could drink those all night long, and often do.

Curious,
What's yours?

Pale ales, more so the IPA variety- anything with lots of hops. Troeg's Nugget Nectar is due out soon and I need to buy my annual case.

Used to be Miller Lite, Jack Daniels, and Jaeger. And Turkey if I was playing with The 'Canes.

Now, it's a Rockstar Energy Drink before every show, and either Mtn. Dew or water. I quit drinking 4 years, 2 months, and two days ago and it's the best thing I ever did.

Kraken rum & coke, straight Jager, or plain old beer, the darker the better (Guiness, Yuengling, etc)

Of course, drinking any of these for me is rare, unusual, and only done on special occasions....mostly because I'm a lightweight and I'm plastered after about 2 or 3 shots.

Have you tried the Guinness Black Lager yet? Good stuff.

I'm a happy camper if I have some Yuengling, Guinness, or Young's Double Chocolate. As far as liquor goes, hook me up with some Jäger, straight or in Moxie, and you've got friend in me.

And Kevin, kudos to you brother.

I like water. And drinks that intoxicate - I'm not picky.

Martinis. Either Ketel One or Bombay Saphire. Very dry, very cold. This has been my drink for about 12 years and it's the perfect drink for me at gigs (if the bartender makes good ones.)

Just about everybody knows I'm a Genny drinker (somebody has to keep the company in business!). Since a lot of places don't stock Genny any more, Yeungling has become a reliable alternative. But I also have discovered a few favorites that I gravitate toward when I visit specific venues. At the Knickerbocker, it's Rogue Chocolate Stout. At Zeno's in State College, it's Otto's Spring Creek Lager. Elk Creek Copper Ale at Elk Creek Cafe in Millheim. And at the new Blue Moon Saloon in Cresson, I'm developing a taste for Duquesne.

I don't do hard stuff much, but if a shot is offered, my preference these days is Wild Turkey American Honey.

Hi Jim. Am I correct in assuming that Rogue Chocolate Stout is bottle not a draft? Been quite some time since I visited the Knicker but that stout sounds great.

As for the others never had any of those either (except Genny :) but they sound good too. Though i prefer draft over bottle, better taste generally imo that's impractical for most of microbrews.

YingLing LAGAR is a great PA beer!

Al's has a nice selection of strange & wonderful drafts, or at least they did last time i was there. Does Champs have a good selection?

Screwdrivers and white Russians tend to be favored, but I'll try a shot of this or that. No Jager bombs, and no beer (or ale, or lager, or anything else along that line). All of that said,... I did try a beer once that was actually half way between a beer and a wine, that was too expensive for me to even care if it's ever stocked again that I would drink...

Lager is great. Porter better. Black & Tan good. Light, Premium sucks.

Single malt Scotch...an Islay distillation is most preferable, but I certainly won't turn my nose up at a good Highland.
