Is it time to see the Audiologist?
Like many musicians I have suffered some hearing loss but I never thought that it was to the point of having it checked.
The other evening my lovely wife and I were going to dinner at one of the local Italian restaurants that we enjoy (sorry no free plugs here) and she asks me a question to which I respond "No way, why would I do that" She looks at me somewhat inquisitively so I queried as to why the puzzled look, "Didn't you just ask me if I was sick of porn?" I inquired.
She said "No, I asked if you were having the chicken parm."
Go figure, might be time for a checkup!!!!

Huh? Haha,my hearing isn't the greatest anymore either. Between loud music,motorcycles,guns,trucks,machinery etc... it's on the down hill slide for sure. Although,I have been wearing ear plugs at practice since my guitar player(s) have to turn up constantly
it's a good feeling going home and being able to hear the radio without blasting it or when I'm at my GF's house,she's always telling me the TV is too loud(she hears everything,I swear!!
)

I get made fun of for earplugs occasionally. I also get tested every few years, and incredibly, I still have above-average hearing, even in the 10-18kHz range... that's rare for musicians, especially former metal guys.
I'm at an age where lots of my colleagues have some hearing loss, and I'm really thankful that I don't have so much.
Now if only I'd listened when they said, "Stop doing that or you'll go blind!" These pop-bottle lenses are getting heavy! I look like Bubbles from Trailer Park Boys!

If I can hear what I am doing I can figure out where I am on the neck, I don't need to see that. They say that if you loose one sense the others will compensate so.........................songsmith wrote: Now if only I'd listened when they said, "Stop doing that or you'll go blind!" Besides, I already did it until I went blind, surgery corrected that. Hummmm, I wonder if that is what is affecting my hearing now?????
