Yes, that's what I said...the government failed to effectively regulate commerce. They still do. Nothing has changed.

By deregulation, you must be talking about that bill the 2000 republican Congress passed and that the notorious republican President Bill Clinton signed into law that allowed investment banks to buy sub-prime loans and pack them into mortgage backed securities and sell them to other banks.

Or maybe you are talking about the easing of loan requirments for low-income homebuyers that created the "toxic assets" in the 1st place. That effort was led by another notorious republican, Barney Frank and his associates and was allowed to happen by the Bush administration.

Don't try to feed me this bullshit that the democrats are any better than the republicans...it doesn't wash and every free-thinking non-partisan knows it.
What he said.

Didn't I just bash the Dems a few posts up. I know, as well, Clinton screwed up signing that. I forget, who was his economic adviser at that time ? I just remember him giving credit to someone back then.

At least the Dems believe in tax and spend, rather than the liberal spending Rupublicans who cut taxes and spend more. Neither is good, one is worse (for the country).

Great job B. Hussein. :roll:
Housing starts are up well beyond expectations. Due to Obama tax breaks for first-time buyers. I won't bother with rightwing links, they won't show that.
The NYSE, Nasdaq, and S&P are all doing well, also well beyond expectations. Sorry, Joe, I know that stings.
80% of economists surveyed believe that the recession is over, and recovery is underway. Of course, Joe, you're going to listen to Dr. John McGinnis, not because he's a great economist (he's a Reaganomics guy... which seriously undermines his credibility), but because he says what narcissistic fringers want to hear.
The world community is noticing America's return to diplomacy over warhawkishness, and is responding in kind.
Perhaps best of all, the president is DE-LEGITIMIZING Fox News Channel as they have strived to delegitimize his presidency, by simply categorizing them as what they are: an opinion outlet. Taking the power of govt AWAY from TALKSHOW HOSTS.

Good job, B. Hussein!--->JMS

Don't feel sorry for me. First, you see me as a god. Second, I clearly have a better grasp on reality than you. Don't hate the player, hate the narrow-minded, semi-literate, one-view, self-absorbed mouth-breathers who think they're the only ones in the game.
Anyway, as your god, "I command thee takest thine head from thine ass-crack, and looketh around. Consider the the lillies, how they toileth not; checketh out the sunlight, how it shines without nary a tax-break. Lookest not from the right eye, for it is palsied and withered from too much Fox News Channel, but peereth from both eyes for a full view of reality in high-def 1080p-eth. Thy god knowest thou art a powerless chattermonkey, and still he diggeth thee, for thou art a buyer of beers, and excellent conversationalist, and the lord doth like a good bull session. Just keepest the political duck-stepping to a minimum, for thou art dealing with a Free-Thinker with a reasonable mastery of the English language, and a Zip-lock baggie half-full of Canadian hydroponic creativity. Book of Songsmith, Chapter 2 Verses 1-4.

The adult equivalent of, "I know you are but what am I?"
Plan a big dinner, your lunch got stolen... again.

And yes, Free Thinker. No political affiliations whatsoever. Don't watch MSNBC, and have never perused an NYT. Registered Independent. No Tear-Parties. No Fox-induced preconceptions. I post no right-wing links, and seldom post ANY link, because I can write whatever I want, at will.
You? "Baa-aaah, baa-aaah. Herd mentality. B.Hussein baa-aaah-d. Liberals baa-aaah-d. Taxes baa-aaah-d. The sky is falling, everything BAA-AAAH-D. Here's a link to a right-wing blog, Baa-aaah!" What sucks about being a sheep is, you're never far from being a wool sweater or being on a plate with some mint jelly and a sprig of parsley. The "shepherd" says he's looking out for you, but he's just fattening you for slaughter. Even the biggest, baddest ram in the herd eventually feels the bolt-gun... because in the end, he's just a sheep.
Baa-aaah, indeed. :roll: --->JMS

George W. Bush's presidency cost the country about $11.5 trillion.

The president came in with a budget surplus of $150 billion surplus from the previous administration. (who was that ;)

Well, they talk about it anyway. As the republicans like to talk about cutting spending, the democrats like to talk about raising taxes on the rich. All I heard during the 2008 campaigns was that they would roll back the Bush "tax cuts for the rich."

Here it is, 9 months into the new administration with democrat super-majorities in both legislatures. They managed to pass about $900 billion in new debt for GM & pork spending disguised as stimulus and Obama's first budget doesn't even go into effect until next week (Nov. 1.) Bush managed to add $3.2 Trillion in debt over 8 budgets and that includes the $700 Billion for bank bailouts. Obama has managed almost a $Trillion$ with zero budgets.

Meanwhile, the Bush tax cuts are still in effect. They had all that pork spending neatly wrapped up and ready to sign, but they couldn't manage to change a few numbers in the tax code. Perhaps you could explain why?
...Oh, the freedom of the day that yielded to no rule or time...

does anyone really believe rush is a political genius? what does he actually bring to the table to help the US and the middle/lower class working people? no value judgment or moralizing in my words, just curious why you that listen to him do? why do you that do find him a credible source of fact and rational opinion?
