I think there should be at least 4 squares for the "too lazy to walk" scooter riders.
Its like freakin bumper cars in Johnstown.
Its kinda funny; the scooters are promoting to the overly obese ppl that they dont need to lose weight. If anything the healthy ppl prob should get to ride the scooter around the store so can get in and out quickly.

Has anyone else noticed the sudden push of Sam's Choice/Wal-Mart brand products on shelves. At one point Wal-Mart only focused on competing with select items. Well, over the past month, the Indiana, PA store has done away with many of the name brand/best seller products and replaced them with Sam's Choice brand products. We all heard how this was Wal-Mart's ultimate goal...gain a following, eliminate the competitor, stock shelves with in-house made products, maintain following, get following to buy your goods earning 100% profits. Hmmm...what a great time to try this move. Economy is down, people need to save money, cut the cheaper best seller name brand items, replace with even cheaper store brand.

I read somewhere that WalMart is looking very hard at putting more brand name items on their shelf. They are looking to appeal to the middle class ppl who have been hurting because of the recession. According to the article they are seing a completely different demographic come thru their door at the moment; and the company wants to keep that type of shopper when the economic situation improves.
I also read in a seperate article that their buyout of an overseas grocer really hurt their cash flow.

i work at the WM distribution center...trust me we send out just as much brand name stuff to stores as we do the sam's choice. all depends on buying trends at a particular store.JayBird wrote:Has anyone else noticed the sudden push of Sam's Choice/Wal-Mart brand products on shelves. Which DC you work at? I'll be going to Woodland DC for a couple days in Sept to attend a Goodyear meeting.DrumAndDestroy wrote:i work at the WM distribution center...trust me we send out just as much brand name stuff to stores as we do the sam's choice. all depends on buying trends at a particular store.JayBird wrote:Has anyone else noticed the sudden push of Sam's Choice/Wal-Mart brand products on shelves. Wait till income tax time lol .. When I worked at the one in state college they came out in droves. It was quite interesting watching all the people on welfare come in with their big checks and 8 kids buying tv's with their checks and food with their stamps.Tegamal wrote:Just went back to work today after a 10 day vacation...
The ugly people are still out in full force!
What is happening with the one they are supposed to be opening in Pinecroft?
Music Rocks!
Ever notice how maple syrup (and lately, Worchestershire sauce) seems to be splattered all over the place, in multiple spills no less, throughout a single truck? Makes me want pancakes (/steak)... Mmm...Tegamal wrote:haha, hell yeah! Nothing better than unloading a frozen/dairy/deli truck & having a pallet of yogurt go sideways!
Or how about how somehow, paint, motor oil and cat litter ends up over 6' high? And what's the deal with trucks that look like they didn't bother stacking? Why the fuck did they just throw boxes in in such a way that they WILL cave in on someone?

I haven't been severely injured yet, but damnit,... I've come close more times than I'd like to realize!

Are the trucks still messed up when they arrive? When I was unloading trucks, there were some that were so badly messed that it took almost the whole night to unload them. We used to take pics and send them to the DC.Naga wrote:Ever notice how maple syrup (and lately, Worchestershire sauce) seems to be splattered all over the place, in multiple spills no less, throughout a single truck? Nothing is better than the time there was a power outage and they made us unload the trucks with a flash light !!
