AC/DC Rehersal Show this Sat
Sorry screwed up the Topic Title.. This Sunday the 26th....
Just got a call from AC/DC's management...
Since I joined the AC/DC fan club to buy Tix early for the DC show and then for the Pittsburgh show... I know get a phone call saying I won 2 tix to a rehersal concert AC/DC's gonna play this Sun at the Wachovia Center in Wilkes Barre, in preperation for their kick off show at Wachovia next Tue....
So anyone else hear anything else about this "rehersal" show?
I wonder how many will be at this rehersal?
Any help??
Peace, Tood
Can't believe I'll get to see AC/DC 3 more times... This will but my guesstimation take me up over 20 times seeing them in concert....
Highway to Hell tour at the Stanley Theatre with Molly Hatchet was by far the best... we were in the balconey and Angus ran right past me down the aisle.. I was so caught off guard I thought it was some guy rushing the stage.....hehe......

The band sounds as good as ever in my opinion, but Johnson sometimes strains on some of the vocals, but years and years of touring and recording will do that to the best of them.
If you take any photo's please share them if you get time.
And if you get an oppurtune, get me Angus's autograph

How's the new album by the way? I haven't heard that yet.

That would suck wouldn't it? I havent heard of the rehearsal show, actually I didnt even know that they were touring.PanzerFaust wrote:Serious.. No one heard anything about this rehersal show?
I hope it's only a few fans let in and they play for quite awhile....
30,000 fans waiting for 2 hours for them to come out and do Sink the Pink would suck
After all, I'm only on the "B" list

Have fun and tell Angus that Metal Church says hi! (he'll know it's me)

Man the Dress rehersal last night at the Wachovia center in Wilkes Barre smoked....
I love concerts up there ... it's 165 miles from Altoona and is all highway so it can be done in 2 hours and 15-20 mins easily.. AC/DC played from 8:00 to 10:00 non stop and I was home in bed by 12:15 and that was stopping at BK to throw down a Whopper Jr....
Crowd was about 1,000 close friends there were about 50 from Germany apparently life members of the fan club about 50 guys from England also lifetime fan club members movers shakers in the music biz and just basically like a small keg party except AC/DC played and it was all VIP's in the crowd.... We all got to pass and shke the lads hands but no time for autographs as everyone who attended was given a VIP access laminate for after the show.... Damn Angus looks old and haggard... Now this is the 20th time I've seen them in the last 30 years and I'm no spring chicken either..
But that strip tease Angus always does now looks like your creepy old grandfather with Alzheimers who strips at the mall and runs naked through Sears.... hehe...
Peace, Tood
Can't wait to see the real concert with the bugs worked out in DC Nov 15th

October 27, 2008 , 11:45 AM ET Rt 80 Exit 124 Burger King
Cub Reporter Toodie Smith, Wilkes-Barre, Pa.
In a hail of faux-cannon shots and fireballs, AC/DC played a "final dress rehearsal" for its Black Ice World Tour last night (Oct. 26) at the Wachovia Arena in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., in front of thousands of contest winners and invite-only industry personnel. The trek kicks off tomorrow at the venue.
The lights went down at 8:10 as an animated AC/DC film played and a giant locomotive moved out to center stage, surrounded by fireworks. Guitarist Angus Young, in his trademark black school-boy uniform, played the opening notes of new single "Rock N' Roll Train" and got the crowd quickly shouting its approval.
The 13-song show soon segued into AC/DC classics like "Back in Black" and "Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap," with singer Brian Johnson and company testing out the elaborate stage set: 21 Marshall amps with a bridge across them, assorted pyrotechnics, a phallic stage extension with a raised platform at the end and a glass panel laid into the main stage so a cameraman could catch Young's guitar-handling from underneath.
A giant bell descended for "Hell's Bells" and Young climbed the ringing rope to open the song. A plus-sized blow-up doll was deployed for "Whole Lotta Rosie," straddling the train prop and manned by a tech tasked with tapping her car-sized foot to the beat. Besides "Rock N' Roll Train," the title song from "Black Ice" was the only other new tune played.
The show came on the heels of blockbuster first day sales of the Wal-Mart-exclusive "Black Ice" album, which sold an estimated 193,000 copies on Oct. 20, according to sources.
Here is AC/DC's set list:
"Rock N' Roll Train"
"Hell Ain't A Bad Place To Be"
"Back In Black"
"Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap"
"Thunderstruck"
"Hell's Bells"
"You Shook Me All Night Long"
"TNT"
"Black Ice"
"Whole Lotta Rosie"
"Let There Be Rock"
Encore:
"Highway To Hell"
"For Those About To Rock"

I would have loved to have seen this. The new "Black Ice" album is the best these guys have done since "Flick of the Switch" IMO.
I am really enjoying this set of tunes....
