Well, I'm gonna be a Daddy...

Post by metalchurch »

My girlfriend is 7 weeks exactly as of today. (her birthday 27)
As you all can imagine I am scared shitless, and at the same time very excited. It amazing all of the emotions I've been going through.

This will be my first child, and her second. She has a 7 year old boy, so she has been through this before and she's been helping me deal with it all. But it has been 7 years for her, so in some respects it feels like the first time for her as well.

I'll be 30 in February and I guess that my age is another thing that I'm dealing with, even though I know that I'm young. I guess I'm just freakin out about everything for no reason. I actually never envisioned children in my life, but as they say if ya play with fire ya get burnt!

The prospected due date is July 4th. We don't know the sex yet, but as she progresses I'd like to find out.

Boys run on my side of the family, and since she (we) have a son, I'd like to have a daughter, but of course it doesn't matter as long as it's of good health.

So, I just wanted to share the good news with you guys.
Anyone else expecting?
I now that Skeezerboy is expecting in January, but other than that he's the only one.

Congratulations !

I remember being frightened at the prospect of raising a child when my first was born. But if you love the child and love your girl friend, things have a way of falling in to place.

Best of luck to you !

Congratulations, man! That's truly awesome. I'm happy for you. Another impressionable young mind that can be taught the mystical ways of metal. How long 'till the kid gets a Jackson?

Congrats, dude. Your age is perfect for a having a kid. You will be around when they grow up.

My wife and I had our daughter when I was 23 and she 20. I always said that I will have no more after age 30. Mostly because I don't want to be needing a walker to go to their high school graduation. And I would like to see the grand kids, if there are any.

Congrats, dude. Better sleep now, cuz come July, you won't much. ;)

Best thing about parenting my dad ever said to me came when I asked him if he every worried that my brother and I would end up being screwups. He said that all a father can do is his best - be thoughtful in determining what is the best thing when dealing with the kids, and do it, then let the chips fall where they may.

Worry not, my friend. It's not as hard as you're afraid it's going to be, and far more rewarding than you imagine. Besides...you want someone around to look after you when you're too old to wipe yourself, right?

Kids are awesome. They do wonderful things for you that you'd never think of. They keep you young and help you to appreciate the little things in life. Follow your heart and the rest will work itself out.
