Ok, I ask a while back about the 12AX7A tube and what I should get, you all helped me out, so i finally got around to picking one up this weekend and well, it was not the right one! thats the preamp tube! I saw 12AX7A on the back on the amp and thought thats what i needed!! What i really need is the 6L6 GC tube, so again, will any 6L6 work, or do I need the GC one ?
What happened was when I plugged my effects loop in , i accidently plugged in to the preamp out, and it blew a fuse, and overloaded the tube, and it blew up! Turned bright orange, and poof! the glass broke!
Any help will be greatly appreciated my friends!
Need your help again

Yeah make sure that you replace all of the 6L6's. It's not totally necessary, but you'll have a better over all sound, and generally you want your tubes to all wear out at the same time. (Like car tires)
If it has Four 6L6's you'll want a "matched quad" which are a group of 4 tubes that were matched up and are identical in output and whatnot.
You can also get Two "matched pairs" if you cant find any "matched quads."
It will definitely need re-biased for sure.
There are many guys around who do that, so you shouldn't have a problem finding a tech.
I'd like to recommend that you call Terry@ Terry's Guitars-n-Stuff

His amp tech, Mike did a fantastic job with my Poweramp this summer and I havent had a single problem yet. He will set it up to your specs and playing style and he's easy to work with.
You can also call him direct@

He will also help you out with a brand of tubes that will fit your playing style as well.
I had him put Tung-Sol powertubes in mine and I love em, but they may not be what you want. Every person and every amp is different.
