Chinese New Year show @ Aldo's

It is a rare occasion for me to make it out to shows these days, but when I caught wind of the double-bill Chinese New Year show at Aldo's, I made a plan to be there. I always enjoy The Marauders and hadn't ever been to see Half Tempted. Both bands feature friends of mine, which makes going to see them that much more enjoyable.

It had probably been 2-3 years since I had been to Aldo's. This event was done very well and I had a great time. I also brought along 4 other people who all also enjoyed the evening. The Marauders laid down their brand of up-tempo Rockabilly and Half Tempted delivered rockin' covers, most of which brought back fond memories of my early bar-band playing days. I thought the price was great ($8 cover) because not only were the bands awesome, but it included some funny party favor giveaways and a Chinese buffet. This was a really fun event and I applaud those involved in putting it together and delivering it.

Hey man, thanks for coming out to the show. The vid you shot of Clint was really cool. You should have come up and jammed. Rockpagers are always welcome to rock with Half Tempted!

btw...next year I'm taking the Rockpage Fantasy Football Trophy!!!!

I tried watching the video cause i wanted to see...but it says i gotta sign into facebook...wtf...ill never make a facebook page. can you upload it somewhere else ?

Hey, it was my pleasure. You guys rocked! Next year, I hope to make it into the playoffs in the RP FFL.

My apologies about the access limitations on the original posted videos. I have updated (edited) the original post with new links to the videos on YouTube. I didn't realize Facebook's idea of "share globally" only meant with those who have an account.

This was the first time I had attended Aldo's Chinese New Year party, and I agree with rreihart that it was a fun time and well-organized. The Chinese food buffet and Asian beer sampling were great, and both The Marauders and Half Tempted delivered the goods in their own unique styles. And coming away with my own souvenir "coolie" hat was an added plus!

Thanks Russ! You definitely need to come up and jam next time. Had I known that you knew some of the songs we did, I'd have called you up. You can play your arse off too my brother!
On a side note, someone with some knowledge of how to cut and paste images on pictures should have a field day with my photo!
