That is going to be very expensive, but it's the very direction that things will be going in the next 10-15 years.
Once magnets can be utilized as a power source that's when it will get interesting.
I think that most Mono-rail trains use that technology already if I remember right.
The only thing that will hold us back will be the amount of G-Force that ours bodies can handle.

You see the new Ford SVT Raptor pickup yet? I am in love with that one!

I look for electric to be in the future as well. And once they do utilize magnets in the motors and other components of the car, they can make the need for oil in automobiles obsolete.

An electric motor is ideal for use in a car. Peak torque at stall, able to be used as a generator (regenerative braking), quiet, and relatively simple construction.

I think the main issue thus far has been power storage (safety, weight, capacity, and size being the biggest four issues). With advances in li-po batteries and capacitors, I feel the time has come where some real monster electric vehicles can be let loose on the roads.

sorry, that big ford in the grill turns me off. if they put something a little more traditional there, it wouldn't be so damn gay looking. not gay like it humps other pickups, but gay like it looks dumb.

That big ford grill does look like a chevy grill copy. I can see a lot of people seeing that and thinking that it is a chevy.

They had to do that, it looks so much like a Chevy, they had to have something that said "I'm not a Chevy!!"

That pic reminds me of a story a GM engineer told me once. He was involved in a photo-shoot for a new Chevy pickup that hadn't been unveiled yet. They went out into the Mojave desert and found an awesome place, and waited for the perfect light, which in the Mojave is an amazing thing. The sun reflected in the polished aluminum rims designed specifically for the pickup at great expense, formed a parabolic mirror that concentrated the sun's rays on one spot, and set the desert on fire.

They had to redesign the rims because of it.--->JMS

As far as the trucks go, I think Marv said it best: All modern cars look like electric shavers....ugh....
The shelby is looking pretty sweet though!! It's nice to see SOMEONE making serious strides toward providing viable alternative energy vehicles
