he's awesome. i also LOVE Eric Sardinas for slide guitar.

my all time fave blues guy is Howlin' Wolf- he was just such a badass and the that razor blade voice- man, he could sing for a metal band IMO.

You know I'm a big Derek Trucks fan. I love it when he goes all Far-Eastern, and especially when gets really cooking, and sounds like a pissed-off woman, all angry and aggressive. Like I said that day at your house, he's got one amazing voice, and never sings a word.
Landreth is pretty amazing, too. His work is everywhere, but few know his name. If there's slide guitar in a movie, it's either him or Ry Cooder. The guy is so... real. In funk, if you want someone to play gritty and close to the bone, you say, "put some stank on it." Landreth only has one setting: stank. :D --->JMS
