Something to think about

Post by witchhunt »

I got this off of his last tour. It makes me think "what the fuck happened?"

When does a kid ever get to sit in the yard with a stick, anymore?
Ya know, just sit there with a stick and dig a fuckin' hole.
And you look at the hole.
And you look at the stick.
And you have a little fun.

The internet killed the stick.

Srs.

There's hope though. My bestest bud Joe, was over yesterday helping me put cabinets in. His 10 year old son, who is like a nephew to me, asked "Hey, when are we gonna go fishin at the sportsman's club?". I told him we have to wait for trout season to go there, but I'm thinking about taking him to the outdoor show this weekend, and then down to my dads on the next nice day. I built a dam and privately stocked over 100 trout in there for the kids. But, lazy parents letting tv/computers babysit their little miracles, is def. "what the fuck happened".

Yeah. George Carlin also rambled on about how the parents have their kids fit tightly into a little schedule nowadays. And that's relatively true. Parents are practically scheduling when their children can and cannot play. It's absolutely absurd that a child has "half an hour at 3PM" to play, and another 15mins again at "7:30PM". Damnit, the kid wants to play here, now, and wants to continue to play until he gets hungry! Sheesh... Adults are too "adulty" nowadays
