Eric,
If you have a practice pad, bring it along. Also sticks. (That would be good...sticks.) We just shoot the drumming breeze and show each other our tricks, licks, and ideas, and generally let the vibe flow for a great exchange of drumming information. It lets us all get better. Sometimes, we'll show off some new gear (I did a Saluda cymbal clinic to demo some cool cymbals besides Zildjian, Sabian, and Paiste, and Hawk showed off his kickass custom drums and mounting system), or videos that we've acquired, stuff like that. It's a totally laid-back time, and one that nobody wants to end!

Cool ! I gotta a new snare to show. I had (simple rectangle shaped) solid stainless steel lugs made for it. And they float freely. They are not attached with screws. It's a prototype, meaning it doesn't look perfect. But it sounds...well...you'll see.RobTheDrummer wrote:I'll bring my kit to the shindig.

Bobby, bring along your AMAZING new Pearl Masters Snare. I LOVE that thing !
Ed, how about your DW EDGE ?

we should really try to hold one of these closer to Johnstown, I'd love to come, but that's waaaay too far and late, I get up at 4 AM for work, so I get to bed between 8-9. we should rove these things from time to time. what do you all think?
If I ever see an amputee getting hanged... I'm just gonna start yelling out letters...
It's up to you to put it together. Find a place (you house if you'd like) . Perhaps on a weekend afternoon if that's better for you. Throw it onto Rockpage and see if there is interest. I'd car pool over.KyleMayket wrote:we should really try to hold one of these closer to Johnstown, I'd love to come, but that's waaaay too far and late, I get up at 4 AM for work, so I get to bed between 8-9. we should rove these things from time to time. what do you all think?

If you guys want, everyone can bring a snare and we can discuss snare tuning - What sound do you look for in a snare ? What wires do you use ? Heads ? Snare side head tighter than the batter ? Muffling ? Hoop types ?Etc..
Just a thought.
I've been out and have heard some ass kickin' snare drums out there !
