Altoona Curve

Post by xero380 »

So other than myself and saw BDR below me...any other musicians go out and take part in watching the curve lose yet another one?

So far is it what everyone was expecting or not?

I don't think Altoona is too far off the map once these guys from single A get their experience but what I took notice to lastnite is they seem to be trying to hard at swinging for the fence as opposed to even just getting a base hit or controlling where to hit the ball. Instead it seemed like they were going up there just hoping to get a hit period...anyone elses thoughts?

I plan on going to a couple of games this summer. As well, as a Pirate game or two ...

My only question is: If they play bad enough, will they go away?

I hope so. I live just a few blocks from the ballpark. I hate the traffic they cause, not to mention I can hear everything inside my house. Also, when there's fireworks, such as last night, every dog in the neighborhood goes apeshit.

I know, I know...good for the economy, tourism, escapism, all that. Just annoyed.

What do you expect? They are affiliated with the Pirates. Still can't believe they lost 2 games to the Astros. It's not going to get any easier with the Braves(5-4), Marlins(8-1), and Padres(7-3) as the next 3 series.

I expect to make it to a few games this year, probably for some of the promotions. I'll be curious to see how Tabata develops, and if Pedro Alvarez shows up there at some point during the season.

I used to live right across the street on Park Ave, none of that ever bothered me. Except the fireworks, did a little sometimes.

I liked buying a GA ticket and just hangin at the game for a while. Especially after I discovered I could get my hand stamped to leave the park and come back. I'd go to my house and eat my food, drink my beer and use my bathroom. Then make my way back to the park.

And living in Lakemont is always an adventure on the Fourth.
Good times... :D

Anyone who has frequented Curve games the past few seasons has probably seen or met Kerri McEachern around the ballpark or at the ticket window. Today's Altoona Mirror reveals that she's facing a tough battle that has nothing to do with the baseball field.

My thoughts are with Kerri, here's hoping she wins this battle!

That's a shame, a young person like her stricken with that disease.
Pour me another one, cause I'll never find the silver lining in this cloud.

An update...and sad news. Kerri McEachern lost her battle with cancer Monday night. She was 24.

The Altoona Curve was supposed to do a slide-show remembrance of Kerri before Tuesday night's game. The game, however, was rained out, so I'm not sure if that remembrance took place or was postponed.
