I agree with Shredder; these discussions are always pretty funny. People have to follow an ideology. They're right by following it. You're wrong by disagreeing. Labels always help when discriminating and belitteling the outgroup. I actually blame this whole mess on the freegans. Those damn hippies are consuming vast amounts of our garbage, thusly destroying the elephantine solid waste industry that once made this country great. Well, at least that's my pop sociology take on things.
But keep following those ideologies. They'll take us to the promise land. The health care industry hasn't been better. I love spending half my pay check on a bottle of 20 pills. It's awesome that the middle class has been castrated through mass offshoring of manufacurering jobs and now, high-tech gigs that require a graduate-level degree to perform have also moved over seas. That's pretty kick-ass that our sons and daughters get to take glamorous careers at Taco Bell because the American Dream was sold out from under them. As long as I have that sweet gig in middle-management, I'm really having a high standard of living by buying cheaply produced imports from Third World countries. And speaking of a high standard of living, how do you like the Escalade and brand new Mustang sitting in the driveway of my $500,000 home even though I only make $65,000 a year? This credit thing is really sweet. It lets me acquire more material shit even though I really don't have the wallet to back it. It's bullshit that we are in a recession here! Until now, history has shown capitalism to be nothing but a very stable and ever-growing system. All I have to do is work hard, just like my forefathers did when they were in desolate poverty with no hope of upward mobility, because everyone knows that true wealth is created through wages, not through investing capital. Everyone in America was living the high-life until FDR came along and fucked everything up. African American's were really living sweet until then. Socialism's pretty kick ass too, because you don't have to think for yourself. What fun is that? Regardless, it's crap that I can't be out just for me when anthropology has always shown humans to be a collectivist creature. That's fucking unAmerican to be "in this all together!" Bush was awesome, because he showed that just because you have nepotism on your side doesn't mean that you're without merit, even if you are a fucking idiot. Obama's awesome too, because he showed that just because you can speak eloquently and use a lot of ostentacious words doesn't mean you're without merit either, even if you really haven't done anything of substance. Anne Coulter and Michael Moore and some of the most intelligenct and astute social commentators of this generation. I don't listen to them because I have a confirmation bias. I listen to them because they are so objective and unadultered in their analyses.
