String Locking

Post by DMFJ03 »

Whoever thought this was a good idea needs to be shot!

String locking is when you "lock" the string around the tuner peg by wrapping it around itself. It supposedly aids in tuning stability. Well, it doesn't. It's a hassle and serves no purpose. None. It drives me up a wall when I have to do a restring at the shop, and this technique is used. It slows me down, and usually results in a string of colorful curse words.

Stop the insanity!!

I hate when you get a loop on the tuning peg while stringing a bass.
