Hotel California - Eagles Tribute Band

Post by metal_junky »

Did anyone else see them play at the Cambria County Fair last night? My wife and I both thought they sounded like the real thing.

Whatever happened to the Cambria County Fair? The economy must really be taking it's toll up there, they used to have top-notch country shows. I saw Waylon there, Joe Diffie, Sammy Kershaw, Marty Stuart... now they have tribute acts. I have nothing against tribute acts per se, but it's a different tier of entertainment. The Railroaders Museum seems to be doing okay with classic-rock nostalgia, I guess that's it.
I'd go see an Eagles tribute in a bar, I guess, but I'd rather see a legend at CCF.--->JMS

Yeah, I agree it would have been nice to see something bigger out there but was a good time anyhow.

I thought the Bass player and the guitar player with the long grey hair had some awesome vocals. Was a great tribute band all in all.

It all has to do with money. The Cambria County Fair, as well as all festivals, has lost lots of sponsorship money the last few years due to the economy and business advertising cutbacks for events. The bigger acts cost quite a lot and without additional sponsorship money, the fair either has to look at cheaper acts or raise the admission price and people complain about paying $8.00 for an all day amusement rides, concerts, and other shows, which is a great deal. Heck, it cost $10 to see a movie for 2 hours.

What happened to the Cambria County fair ?

New inexperianced management with the people skills of a rattlesnake.

Many key people who knew how to get things done either left or where told they where no longer needed.

Count myself as one of them.
