I caught "The House Band" last night

Post by Hawk »

Last night was the first time I saw the trio. Mark Rossi, Tom Rhodes and Pete Wolfe. Caught them at Rubines, a neighborhood bar in Altoona.

I really enjoyed myself listening to a wide variety of genre. Mark can sing down and dirty blues and then go to a Billy Joel pop tune to ELP, which the audience was "into".

I just put up a thread to say if you haven't seen them, make it a point to do so.

Yeah Mark was a couple of years ahead of me in High School and I use to sneak up behind their garage and listen to them practice. Always a blast!

I think Mark and some of the guys did "Rocky Raccoon" at the class talent show in about....... 19 something....

Always has been a great player...

Mark kicks ass.
Laugh if you want to, really is kinda funny, 'cause the world is a car and you're the crash test dummy.

I was there as well, and had a great time. Mark, Tom, Peter and the other musicians made it into a community jam session before all was said and done, reminiscent of the days of the old U.S. Hotel House Band on Wednesday nights.

This was also the first time I have ever set foot inside Rubine's. Definitely a fun place, and it won't be my last visit!
