Sam Lugar of The Sharks R.I.P.

Sam Lugar, the guitarist and lead singer of The Sharks, passed away on Thursday from complications due to lung cancer.

The Sharks used to play in the Altoona area in the '80s, doing several shows at Cisco's (and I believe also at the Coaches Inn, now 30 Something). I think I got to see them once when I was first starting to cover live music.

That's awful. I just saw the Sharks a few months ago. They are fairly good friends of my bandmates...not sure how hard they are taking it. A real horrible story for sure.
