A little help please...

Post by Jsun76 »

Trying to get some input on shipping costs for ebay. Every time I sell something I end up eating my shirt on shipping. Anyone have any advice?

Package and weigh the items prior to posting your ebay auction. It requires a little leg work up front, but worth the effort on larger items. If you don't have a reliable scale, take the package to the post office, they will weigh it for you. Then the shipping calculator on ebay should work for you. For smaller items, I use flat rate boxes from USPS. Then there is no margine for error. The cost is predetermined to any US address as long as the item(s) will fit in the box.

If you are shipping small to medium sized stuff, get on the USPS website and order some flat rate boxes, they're free to get and makes life easy, plus they are Priority Mail so they ship quick.
