So? I think I would have probably posted the same type of statement.

I don't have anyone with Down's in my family...but let's say I was someone in the public light..and they made a joke that made reference to me and kidney that my mom had kidney cancer...yeah. My gut jerk reaction would be to tell the writer he is an idiot.

Just because you are in a public light doesn't mean you can't have an opinion on such things.

I thick she is thick skinned. It seems she only boils when someone attacks one of her children; like a mother bear with cubs. The regular political jabs seems to roll off her back like water off a goose but if you mess with a gosling, the feathers ruffle and the beak goes into action.

If it is just her I can see where she would need to get a thick skin. But, they should not be attacking her kids like they are. What would have happen if the media attacked Chelsey Clinton as much as they attack the Palin kids? Think if it was one of your own. And you can't tell me that line wasn't directed at the kids as much as is was her. I love the family guy, it is a funny show. But this time I think they went a little too low ..

What little I saw of the offending skit was pretty over-the-top... however, Palin's just playing her usual "perpetual victim" role. It's part of the wingleberry job description.
Remember when Letterman basically called her daughter a slut? The adults all knew he wasn't talking about the 14-yr-old, he was talking about the slutty one. If you're old enough to have a family, you're old enough to take media scrutiny.
If Palin was sooooo concerned about the well-being of her Down's baby, she shouldn't have taken him gallavanting all over the country on a campaign when he was a newborn. She is also quoted as saying,"You take the retarded one, I want to hold my grandbaby."
Also, the video I saw showed the character and song as "Down's Syndrome GIRL." I'm reasonably sure, Palin's kid is a boy. There's a difference, you know.
Now, the most important point of this thread:
I used the word, "gallavanting" in normal conversation. There has to be some sort of super-word-score for that.
