Music Trivia .. Guitar players tools ..

Post by f.sciarrillo »

O.k here is one that I think is really cool. There is a guitar player who uses a quarter for a guitar pick. He says the reason he does this is because it gives a more raspy sound. Can you tell me who this guitar player is ?

Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top used a peso at times, maybe he was out of pesos and used a quarter? :)

Although not a guitar player Chris Squire the bassist for Yes was also known to use a quarter as a pick.

Gibbons used/s a peso, Brian May a sixpence, and I think Nugent used a quarter sometimes.

I used a quarter a few times in Deviance (bass). It wasnt worth a cent.

It was cool; but I prefer plastic.

The one I was thinking of was Billy Gibbons. I never heard of that before and thought it was pretty cool of an idea, definitely one I would not have thought of.
