Steve Lukather....

Post by gibson980 »

How come I never heard of this guitar player from Toto? He is amazing! Do I live in a bubble or are there others out there that never heard of him like me?

Lukather is awesome !! He has played with a couple of people. Boz Scaggs, Olivia newton john, Richard Marx, Michael Jackson, Don Henley, Jackson Brown and George Benson to name a few. I thought he played for kansas as one time as well, but I was confusing him with Steve Morse ..

He did a live cd with Steve Carlton of Steely Dan fame called "No Substitutions", with Stevie Vai as the producer. Awesome and highly recommended.

Probably (Along with Jeff Golub) played on more sessions than anyone throughout the 80s.

The whole band toto were all session players before they formed toto. Doing some research on them, you will find that they all played on a slew of albums ..

I never took a good chance to listen to him either, I must admit. Perhaps if I get some free time any time soon, I'll look around a bit to see what I find
