NEW audio from the Underground Studio-The Ultramagnetic!

Post by KeithReynolds »

Check out this Altoona Band! These 3 guys are very talented and super nice guys! I consider them a jam/blues type band. It was a pleasure working with them, and we will be working together again sometime soon I hear!

Next time you see THE ULTRAMAGNETIC are playing...go see them! You wont be disappointed.

Anyway, here is one of the songs we did. (play the hi-fi one!)

This link is just a few mins of the song, so it was able to be streamed. The full version is over 8 mins long!

REMEMBER...It had to be converted from wav to mp3 to be streamed online, and as we all should know audio compression always degrades the quality a bit!

I personally think the vox are a little low, but I do what Im told ;)

Feedback would be cool, Im sure the dudes in the band will appreciate people taking the time to listen.

To Hunter, Vince & Jon...you guys rule!

Drums are pretty loud in the recording, especially hi hats. The vocals could come up a bit for sure, otherwise great stuff Keith.

The vocals kind of remind me of Ian Hunter singing in the Mott the Hoople album "All the Young Dudes".

Thanks for the comments guys!!!!

Here's a little tech info about the session:

No drum replacement on the drums at all except the kick. I wanted a certain kick sound and had a sample that was pretty close. Of course there was processing on the drums like EQ, Compression, & Reverb. Ya know, the usual studio stuff.

The guitar setup was a fender strat going into a Fender Deluxe with one 12 inch speaker. He used a pedal board for his fx, and no fx were added in later. Just subtractive EQ & slight compression on the gtr track.

Bass was recorded direct and into a software bass amp.

ALL recording, mixing & mastering was done in Reaper.
