A very libertarian move. It would be a perfect libertarian move if they dropped the $100 fine. That could be worked on next.
California decriminalizes marijuana.

Wrong, wrong, wrong......keep governmental control out of this. Why do you need to tax and regulate a naturally growing weed? I have picked wild rose hips, and yarrow leaf, for tea; should the government come in and enact a bunch of laws and tax wild rose hips and herbs like yarrow? NO!!!
Get the government out of my life.

You can grow tabaccoo leafs yourself, but the government controls that? You can grow hops and barley yourself, but the government controls that?undercoverjoe wrote:\f.sciarrillo wrote:I tend to agree that if they would legalize it, tax it like cigarettes and put the same practices as alcohol laws on it; you would see some things change...

If they legalize it, they should put the same laws in affect for it as they do with alcohol. The reason I say about taxing it like cigarettes is because they will get a good revenue from it, and possibly make it where they can lower the tax on other things (I know that will never happen, but I think you see my point).
Music Rocks!
Not to be confused with California's Prop 19 which will be on the ballot in Novrmber.
Prop 19 polls on the rise
In just the last week two new polls have come out showing California's Prop 19 has strengthened its position among that state's voters. In one instance, the highly respected Field Poll showed Prop 19 leading 49 to 42 percent, a marked increase from June when that same poll showed the initiative down 48 to 44 percent. Let's hope these polls hold true come November and California voters decide to make their state the first in the nation to end marijuana prohibition!

Smoking a bowl isnt much different than someone pounding beers or shots. Both impair one to a certain extent. The only difference is, mr potheadman isnt gonna go home and beat his wife or crash his car through the front of his house.
