You will still see third party companies selling them for 10 times more than they are worth, though ...

I'm still pissed about shows at City Island in Harrisburg going up from $12.50 to $15 bucks. In 1983. T-shirts were under $10. --->JMS

The Ticketmaster and other service and convenience charges (convenient for whom?) sometimes are 30% - 50% of a ticket price.

I am going to see Kenny Chesney at Heinz Field in July, tickets for that are between 45.00 and 250.00. In some ways I can understand the enormous ticket fees with the record sales being at an all time low, but man, if they think people can pay 250.00 per ticket with the economy the way it is, they are crazy ..

Also, didn't Garth Brooks sue a third party vendor for selling tickets to his show for a couple of hundred bucks? I think he had strict orders for them to not be sold for more than I think 20.00?

Garth Brooks is very adamant about not gouging the public on tickets for his concerts. I've always really respected him for that.
"He's the electric horseman, you better back off!" - old sKool making a reference to the culturally relevant 1979 film.

There's Economics 101:
1.)don't gouge the public
2.)stay rich and popular

That is the thing I liked best about him as well. I also think that is one of the reasons why he was so successful ..

I'd have to say it's about time. People don't want to pay $15 for a 10-track CD. We don't want to have to pay $100 for nosebleed seats. We don't want to pay $5/gal for gas. Overall, we're kinda sick of lining others' pockets when we can barely afford to keep pants without holes in our own. And it's good that some companies are starting to realize this

The only people this whole situation has hurt has been the artist. Like the article said, a lot of shows have had to be cancelled because the company can't make a bottom line, even though obviously, the artists still want to perform

We recently had this discussion in our band. I simply don't pay that much for a CD, unless it's a box-set or something. I have, for a local/regional band, but they have to be pretty special. I think ten bucks is a good price-point... the band makes money, and folks aren't scared off by the cost.
We have, I think, 18 songs cut for the album, but I'm not sure they'll all fit, so I think 15 or 16 songs for a tenner is a pretty good deal.--->JMS
