Here is the recap of the May 21 edition of Q94's weekly local music program, "The Backyard Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM on WBRX 94.3 and WBXQ 94.7.
Thanks to our guests this week; Jeff, Carl and Jack of Williamsport-based hard rockers White Witch, for battling sleep deprivation and roadtripping in to be our guests (after playing a gig the night before at Pittsburgh’s Hard Rock Café). We got acquainted with White Witch and their story, as the group first formed in the 80’s, disbanded in 1989, and reunited 15 years later. We discussed the group’s music and live show, and heard numerous tracks from the group’s 2004 comeback CD, The Power.

Next Sunday night, it’s our Memorial Day Weekend tradition, the 3-hour “Backyard Rocker” Memorial Day Special! We’ll ransack the local music archives and hear tunes from bands who used to grace local and regional stages, such as The Front, Cut The Mustard, Wicked Truth and more. During the show’s third hour, we’ll pay tribute to some of the area musicians we have lost along the way. Starting at a special time of 7 PM, it’s the 3-hour Memorial Day Special edition of the “Backyard Rocker,” next Sunday night!

The “Backyard Rocker” is happy to announce its continued partnership with “The Underground TV,” the new local/regional music television show airing on WWCP-TV Fox 8 Saturday evenings at 6 PM, and now early Monday mornings at 1 AM on WATM ABC 23. Check out “The Underground” as it features different unsigned local and regional bands every week; and watch for “Backyard Rocker” updates on the show each week as well!
