Hello Everyone,

Here is the recap of the February 4 edition of Q94's weekly local music program, "The Backyard Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM on WBRX 94.3 and WBXQ 94.7.

We knew what we were up against this week from the sporting world this week. Thanks to any and all listeners who heard the program this week, either while watching the football game or not! We devoted the Super Bowl Widow’s Special to the ladies, and thus showcased the talented women of the local and regional music scene. We featured singers and instrumentalists, across a wide variety of styles and sounds.

Here is this week’s playlist (names listed sing unless otherwise noted):

HOUR ONE:

SILVER SUNDAY – “Naked” (Cathie Stultz)
JUST MEGAN – “My Nemesis” (Megan Carlson – vocals/guitar)
ACALASIA – “Contradictory” (Krystal Shore)
ISSUES – “Run” (Clorisse Ellis)
KAT REES – “I’ll Never Know”
FLESHCOAT feat. Dr. E – “Grown Folks’ Music (Dr. Elaine Richardson)
SKYLA BURRELL BLUES BAND – “Livin’ Day to Day” (Skyla Burrell – vocals/guitar)
TRACE MORAN – “Revenge”
HANNAH BINGMAN – “Finished Finé Done” (vocals/guitar)
DEJA VUDOO – “How Do I Tell” (Tina Marie – vocals/guitar)

HOUR TWO:

HALESTORM – “It’s Not You” (live) (Lzzy Hale – vocals/guitar)
KIWI – “Reap What You Sow” (Lee Kendrick – vocals/bass)
JILL WEST & BLUES ATTACK – “Four Letter Word” (Jill West)
ANGEL BLUE & THE PROPHETS – “Short Chain” (Angela D’Ambrosio)
SPOONCHATTER – “Simon Says” (Jen Shuty – saxophone)
THE NIGHTCRAWLERS – “African Echo” (Aeb Byrne – keys/flute)

SHERRI MULLEN – “Modern Day Loving Family” (vocals/guitar)
SECOND OFFENSE – “Vanity” (Jes Mattern – bass)
KAIROS – “Saturate” (Shar Sturm – bass)

Next Sunday night, our guest in the studio will be Kyx guitarist and singer Bill Ferrell. We’ll learn Bill’s story to date, and discover his music, as we hear tracks from Bill’s first solo album, Biker’s Prayer. We’ll also hear from other area bands and artists, update Local Music News, and perhaps even review a new local/regional CD in “The Professor’s CD Corner!” Bill Ferrell visits the “Backyard Rocker,” next Sunday night!
