Hello Everyone,

Here is the recap of the February 18 edition of Q94's weekly local music program, "The Backyard Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM on WBRX 94.3 and WBXQ 94.7.

We didn't have any guests in the studio this week, but we nonetheless had an action-packed program! We took the opportunity to introduce music from a number of new CD's that had arrived at "Backyard Rocker" headquarters in recent weeks. We heard new songs from Brennon John, Angel Blue and the Prophets, The April Skies, The Douglass Brothers, Lumpy Gravy, Officer Roseland, Phantasm and Burned Bridges. We also updated Local Music News, and we flashed back to 1984 for a song by Teeze (from the newly-issued double-CD compilation Lehigh Valley Rocks: The Best Of 1984-1994). And we featured an edition of the nationally syndicated radio series The American Storyteller that spotlighted Lewistown singer/songwriter Rhyne McCormick. What a week!

Here is this week's playlist:

HOUR ONE:

MICHAEL REICH - "Turning on a Dime"
HI-TYDE - "I Will Find a Way"
BRENNON JOHN - "Southbound Train"
ANGEL BLUE AND THE PROPHETS - "Stormy Monday"
THE APRIL SKIES - "Amnesia"
FAYTED - "Midnight Drive"
THE DOUGLASS BROTHERS - "Midnight in Vegas"
LUMPY GRAVY - "Grasshopper"

HOUR TWO:

JEFFREY GAINES - "Falling Apart"
MAXWELL STRAIT - "Babblefish"
("AMERICAN STORYTELLER" FEATURE ON RHYNE McCORMICK)
RHYNE McCORMICK - "Train"
WHITE WITCH - "Game That I Play"
TEEZE - "Party Hardy" (1984, Local Music Flashback)
OFFICER ROSELAND - "Chevy Chase"
THE LAMPSHADES - "Hot Water Rebellion"
PHANTASM - "Venus de Milo"
LOVE.HATE.FEAR - "Drunkenlazy"
BURNED BRIDGES - "The Truth"

Next Sunday night, we'll recap the 11th annual Millennium Music Conference, which took place this past weekend in the Harrisburg area. We'll feature soundbytes from the conference, comments from some of the musicians and participants, and music from some of the over 200 bands and artists who showcased in Harrisburg during Millennium weekend! We also will review a CD by a showcasing Millennium band in "The Professor's CD Corner!" We'll give you the full lowdown on this year's Millennium Music Conference on the "Backyard Rocker," next Sunday night!

In Local Music News.

An effort is being organized through local music website Rockpage to send some appreciation and inspiration to some of our local men and women serving in the Armed Forces in Iraq and Afghanistan. The initiative is called Rock For The Troops, and the project will involve shooting video and photos of area bands and audiences performing and sending greetings and support to the troops. This footage will be compiled into DVD's and picture CD's to be sent to local Armed Forces units serving overseas. The effort is still being organized and fine-tuned; for more information about the effort, you can check out the discussion thread about Rock For The Troops on Rockpage, www.rockpage.net.
