Hello Everyone,
Here is the recap of the August 10 edition of Q94's weekly local music program, "The Backyard Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM on WBRX 94.3 and WBXQ 94.7.
Thanks to our guests, Altoona acoustic trio Acid Reflux, for a very entertaining two hours. Acid Reflux performed several songs live, including fresh and inventive interpretations of tunes from Pink Floyd, Eagles, Neil Young and Stevie Wonder, plus “Spirit High,” a song penned by singer/guitarist Dwane Edmiston's late brother, Darren.
We also spoke with Duane Young and Mark Ruston of Mannish Boys, an Altoona-based rock band from the early 1980's who is reuniting for a special show this coming Friday night, August 15, at the Unter Uns Club in Altoona, with proceeds benefiting the Blair County Autism Society. We found out about the benefit, and details about Mannish Boys' return to action on area stages.
And we premiered new music from Silver Sunday, Dave Pahanish and Felix & the Hurricanes. In all, a very busy two hours!

This Sunday night, August 17, we will preview the forthcoming 13th annual “End Of Summer Jam” benefit concert, which takes place August 23 and 24 at the Cresson Sportsmen's Club. A dozen bands and artists will take the stage over the two days, helping raise money for Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh. We will speak with several of the musicians involved, and hear music from participating bands as well. Plus, we will make the first official announcement about Q-Fest 2003! A preview of the 13th “End of Summer Jam” on the "Backyard Rocker," this Sunday night!
