Hello Everyone,

Here is the recap of the March 18 edition of Q94's weekly local music program, "The Backyard Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM on WBRX 94.3 and WBXQ 94.7.

Thanks to our guests in the studio, Kent Tonkin and Jason Berardi of rising Altoona area rockers Lies, Inc. (www.myspace.com/liesinc), for an interesting and entertaining two hours! We learned about Lies, Inc. and their career to date, and heard tracks from the group’s four-song EP, Believe the Lie. We also gave away copies of the CD to lucky listeners. In addition, we introduced new songs from Pensive Fear, The Red Letter Band and My Turning Point, and we celebrated St. Patrick’s Day belatedly with a tune from popular Irish music duo The Michael O’Brian Band. We also updated Local Music News, and reviewed A Utopian Skyline’s Elmamoore CD in “The Professor’s CD Corner.” (The review can be viewed in the “Backyard Rocker” section of the Message Board area on Q94’s website, www.wbxq.com.) Needless to say, a very busy week!

Here is this week’s playlist:

HOUR ONE:

THE MICHAEL O’BRIAN BAND – “Whiskey in the Jar” (live)
WAY DOWN EAST – “Modern Day Outlaw”
LIES, INC. – “Don’t Blink”
PENSIVE FEAR – “Where the Answer Lies”
LIES, INC. – “Hypnotic”
THE RED LETTER BAND – “Praise Adonai”
THE GRIMM – “Fade”
MY TURNING POINT – “Found My Way”

HOUR TWO:

EMILY’S TOYBOX – “Beach”
PIVOT – “Redefine”
LIES, INC. – “Atomic Skies”
A UTOPIAN SKYLINE – “Summer Was the Reason for it All”
J. ANTHONY – “Crystal Hauntings”
THE FLAME SKY – “Only In Your Head”
LIES, INC. – “Plaster Apparent”

Next Sunday night, our guest in the studio will be Beaver Springs-based singer, songwriter and guitarist Hannah Bingman! We’ll get acquainted with Hannah and learn her story to date, plus hear songs from her latest CD, Right, Right Now. Listeners may also have chances to win a copy! Hannah will also bring her guitar and play some tunes live on the air! In addition, we’ll feature tunes from other bands and artists, update Local Music News and possibly review another new local/regional CD in “The Professor’s CD Corner!” Hannah Bingman visits the “Backyard Rocker,” next Sunday night!

Forthcoming guests and specials include:

APR. 1 – Opposition
