Hello Everyone,

Here is the recap of the June 10 edition of Q94's weekly local music program, "The Backyard Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM on WBRX 94.3 and WBXQ 94.7.

Thanks to our guests via phone, singer Bryan Harmony and guitarist Larry Werner from the Allentown-based band Spitshine (www.spitshinemusic.com), for taking time out to chat with us this week. Bryan and Larry informed us of the latest Spitshine happenings, including their collaboration with noted producer David Ivory. We heard some new tunes from the Spitshine/Ivory collaboration, as well as tunes from Spitshine’s first two CD’s. We also dug into the archives to play a tune from Bryan’s and Larry’s previous band, Jolly Roger, for a “Local Music Flashback.”

We also spoke with Missy Miller of Fast Trackers Relay for Life (www.fasttrackersrelayforlife.com), to discuss Fast Trackers’ 4th annual Relay for Life Band Jam, a day-long music event happening this coming Saturday, June 16, at the Shade Gap Picnic Grounds in Huntingdon County. And we debuted new songs from Justin Mack, Doug Forshey, Spin and Real Be Easys.

Here is this week's playlist:

HOUR ONE:

NITEKAST – “Humidity”
JUSTIN MACK – “Hope Road”
SPITSHINE – “I Don’t Want You”
SHADES OF JUNE – “Not the One For Me”
SPITSHINE – “I-H8-U”
HELLO, VIXEN – “You Can’t Sing a Song You’ve Never Heard”
SPITSHINE – “Every Little Lie”
DUBMISSIVE – “Rebel Song”
DOUG FORSHEY – “Rock’n’Roll Sunshine”
GRADE E – “Be”

HOUR TWO:

AGONY HILL – “Spent”
SPIN – “Not In Love”
SPITSHINE – “Whisper”
REAL BE EASYS – “Ipso Facto”
SPITSHINE – “No Good”
JOLLY ROGER – “Lickety Split” (1994, Local Music Flashback)
SPITSHINE – “Fall Away”
SPITSHINE – “Dancefloor”

Next Sunday night, we celebrate Father’s Day by celebrating the fathers, mothers, sons and daughters of the local and regional music scene. We’ll hear music from area dads, moms and kids, including some songs featuring parents and kids together! We’ll also be joined by two prominent local music scene dads and their talented offspring; Randy Rutherford and son Evan (drummer for 9 Planet Tour), and Rick Wertz and son Eric (ex-9 Planet Tour/Choco Sam). We celebrate music scene parents and kids on the Father’s Day Special edition of the “Backyard Rocker,” next Sunday night!

Forthcoming guests and specials include:

JULY 15 – The Scraps
JULY 22 – My Turning Point
JULY 29 – Last Chance
